Officer Training Begins With Super Saturday, December 13
This year, Winter Officer training will be in the form of a Toastmasters’ Leadership Institute, offering a variety of workshops for first-time trainees as well as experienced officers, and it’s open to non-officers as well. The specific dates of these Institutes are on this website and also listed on the TLI Reservation Form. Several dates do not have confirmed locations yet, but you can still register now and we’ll get you the directions as soon as they are known. The goal of a Toastmasters’ Leadership Institute is to provide high quality and pertinent training by harnessing the talents of workshop leaders within the District. The Institute is a combined effort of the Division Governors, and the format will be decided once and then “taken on the road” to the various sections of the District – Manhattan, Queens, Nassau, Suffolk, Westchester. Continue reading to learn more about the Toastmasters’ Leadership Institute and how you can reserve your seat at one of the upcoming sessions. |

New Beginnings, New Opportunities to ExcelElaine Rogers, DTM, District Governor Welcome to the new District 46! As the ‘new’ District 46 emerges from the old, we will build on the successes of the past. This new beginning for the District provides us the opportunity to establish new goals and take our performance to new heights. Many of us set new goals and make resolutions in January of a new year; similarly we should establish goals for the new Toastmasters year. Whether you are on the communications or leadership track, there are always new opportunities to excel in Toastmasters. As you continue on the journey to achieve your educational targets, raise the bar a little higher, and excel beyond your wildest dreams. Commit yourself to earning a new, or another, CC and CL this year, even as you pursue your other educational goals. Work on an HPL (High Performance Leadership), you and your club members will enhance your project management skills. Volunteer to help with speech contests, work on a demo team for prospective clubs, or work on a conference committee; the possibilities are endless. Every day is a fresh beginning. Every new Toastmasters year is also a fresh beginning for the members of District 46. This Toastmasters year is a new opportunity for District 46 to excel beyond the achievements of the past. As the 2008-2009 District 46 Governor, I pledge to create an environment within the District that enhances your Toastmasters experience and helps you to succeed. It is a New Beginning for District 46, and a New Opportunity for you and the District to Excel! |
