It’s not your traditional August

Beach Bag, Training, Vote

Fellow Toastmaster,

It is not your traditional August with fun in the sun for many of us, but online Toastmasters meetings provide some sense of normalcy. After logging out of your club meeting, check these out:

1. It’s not Paris, but it’s the next best thing
The Toastmasters International Convention was scheduled for Paris this year, but like most other events, has moved online. We are all benefiting because it is free and you can join from the comfort of your home. Register here: http://www.toastmasters.org/events/2020-international-convention

2. Vote early, vote often
Presidents and Secretaries would have received emails about how to assign their proxies for the upcoming Toastmasters International business meeting. Contact Tom Marino at tm.tmarino@gmail.com for more information.

3. They all said: I will
Thank you to all the district leaders who have stepped up to accept District roles. The full slate is available on the District website https://toastmasters46.org/division-area-directors/. Area directors are making their first rounds now – be ready to receive them for officer installation.

4. They came to learn
More than 400 club leaders have already attended training, equipping them for club excellence. Seventy clubs already have 4 or more officers trained after the first two weeks of training. We are at 74% of clubs earning their DCP goal #9 so far. For those who have not attended/registered yet, two more sessions (Aug 14, 12 noon and 17, 6pm) remain. Register here: https://toastmasters46.org/online-officer-training-schedule/

5. Pathways: Never be lost for answers
We want to make sure that you have all the knowledge and tools to get the most out of your club meetings. To this end we have arranged the following interactive focused sessions:

  • Aug 6th 7:30PM – Experienced Toastmasters getting started in Pathways

Seasoned Toastmasters that have questions about how to get started with Pathways

  • Aug 20th 7:30PM – Toastmasters finishing up Level 2

Toastmasters that have embraced Pathways and wonder what to expect as they go beyond level 2

More sessions planned for September and beyond for New Toastmasters and others. Details here: https://toastmasters46.org/special-event-calendar/. In addition to material already on the website we will launch our Helpline and Office hours soon – you will never be lost for an answer. For Pathways-specific questions, please contact our D46 Pathways Chair, Kuei Fan at kueifan@hotmail.com

6. And it’s still a bargain
