“I invite you to celebrate the steps that you have taken in your journey, along with the progress you have made.”

Greetings Fellow Toastmasters,

How Time Flies! Three months have passed since the beginning of the Toastmasters year. Dipping temperatures and falling leaves steadily remind us the calendar year is nearing its end. You may share my own experience of an approaching year-end with a sense of loss. In past years, we would have been in the midst of contests, while at the same time gearing up for the fall conference, which will not happen this year. Fear not, as we are conscious of that sense of loss and invite you to come and bond with your fellow Toastmasters at our upcoming District 46 Holiday Celebration.
First, thank you on behalf of Toastmasters International and more specifically, on behalf of District 46, for your membership renewal. If you have not already done so, it is late, but not too late, to submit your renewal. I hope this message will reaffirm your vision and discipline to improve your leadership and communication skills, and prompt you to renew.
Are we meeting your expectations? If you say ‘Yes,’ then how well are we meeting those expectations? If you say ‘No,’ then what can we do to improve? Each of us embarked on this journey at different levels and with different expectations. Some have more a more focused vision than others do. Some have greater needs than others do. What we all have in common is our quest for improvement and affirmation. You know better than anyone why you joined Toastmasters, and what it is you want to accomplish. The challenge is in making the journey towards achieving your goals as rewarding and as pleasant as possible.
At this time, I invite you to celebrate the steps that you have taken in your journey, along with the progress you have made. If you have doubts that your progress is worth celebrating, let me dissuade you of that opinion. When you realize you are not alone in your journey, and how supportive your Toastmasters colleagues truly are, you will see your goals as accessible. Join us in celebration. Be supported by, and provide support to, your Toastmasters brothers and sisters.
On December 1, we will celebrate the steps that you have taken, no matter how large or how small. We will recognize the service your Pathways Guides have provided. We will thank some of the leaders who have supported, and continue to support, the District. Please join us in celebration.
We are fast approaching June 2020, the end of the legacy program affectionately known as the Competent Communicator and Competent Leader program. Let us give it a proper sendoff and at the same time, let us welcome Pathways in a big way. Come and collect the last remaining CC and CL manuals that your clubs never collected as awards. The Advanced manuals that you need to achieve your desired goals will also be there and yes, some HPL manuals will be there as well.
If you need more reasons to come, they are music, raffles, giveaways, dancing, speeches, Table Topics and more. Tickets are available on Eventbrite on a limited basis. Early bird tickets are on sale until November 6th at just $70 for District 46 members, and only 'early birds' will the receive a special gift we have planned. Tickets are only available through November 21st, and none will be sold at the door. In my opinion, you cannot afford to miss this event. Get your tickets on Eventbrite.
I'm looking forward to our Holiday Celebration and sincerely hope you will join me there. Come and have a good time outside of your club environment. Come and experience a different side of Toastmasters. Discover New Paths and Enjoy the Journey.

Best wishes,

Raoul Yacinthe, DTM
